A lovely heritage illustration by Jenny Nystrom (ca 1899). Jenny Nystrom is remembered today as the woman who linked Swedish folktales of Gnomes and Elves with Santa and Christmas . Her illustrations of that time,created the tale that Santa had Elves as wee workers in his toy shop.
In this puzzle, spots of saturated reds in the hats and on the parcels enliven the image. Soft blue, straw gold and sea foam offer a visual dance once the image is cut into pieces. An annual Christmas puzzle is a tradition cherished by family and friends.
